12 volt stabliser

Hi i am in the process of fitting a computer to my car and i need to stablise the voltage before i pass it into the computer, the computer will be max of 50watts and runs on 12 volts, i have been told a series of capacitors will do the job for me but i dont know where to start, does anyone know where i should look for help or have a circuit diagram for me hope you can help
