Help Smoothing circuit

Hi,
I am in need of a bit of help, I am trying to build a smoothing circuit for a motorcycle, I have a small video camera connected to the 12v power supply of the bike, but when I rev the bike the picture breaks up. I understand I need to build some kind of smoothing circuit, buts thats as far as I can go, Any help would be great,

Might be interference?

Your problem might be because the engine is consuming a lot of current, in which case you do need to place a large smoothing capacitor across the supply, such as 1000uF or more. It must be rated above to supply voltage, i.e. more than 12V.

However, there might also be high frequency interference from the engine, which means you need to remove this with a low value capacitor, such as 0.1uF across the supply.

You will need to experiment to see what works!

Smoothing supply lines

Besides what has already been said, you may find it helpful to wind a few turns of the positive supply lead to the equipment around a ferrite annular core and then follow this with a .1uF capacitor in parrallel with a 100uF capacitor across the power lines of the equipment.
