transistor

is there a similar transistor I can use instead of the bfy51 model? Its not avaliable where I live.

Alternative transistors

BC639 and 2N3053 are good substitutes (and there are probably others). The 2N3053 has a slightly lower maximum current (700mA rather than 1A) but that will not matter unless you are planning to use it near the limit.
