2n3055 question

The 2n3055 transistor uses a to-3 style case. I noticed it only has 2 leads on the bottom instead of the usual 3. How should I place it in the circuit?

2N3055 connections

The 2 leads are the base and emitter (sometimes labelled on the case). The third connection, the collector, is the case itself. It is a TO3 case, most suppliers will have details or there is a diagram on:
