will 440v Capacitor work ok on 240v supply

Hi I've just made a phase converter so I can run a 3 phase motor off a single phase supply but I've used 440v capacitors instead of 240v ones and the motor runs but lacks power could the fact that I'm using 440v capacitors instead of 240v ones cause this
