Reed Switches

Hello, I am trying to install a reed switch to the 12V power side on my car to make an Ignition Kill switch. But from what I am reading this will need to incorp a latching relay.
Is that the only way? Do you know of a strong enough reed switch to stay on continously?
The problem for my project with the latching relay is the diconnect switch. I will have to disconnect this every time I leave the car. Any other component suggestions?
