output stays high

When I have my relay coil connected to Pin 3, the output stays high instead of falling after the 30 second time expires. It works fine with the relay disconnected and I already tried the diode tricks on the output and they dont work.
I am using the SA555N setup for a 30 second high output on pin 3 after a trigger.
